This app is designed to allow users to make observations in a virtual house that simulates an inspection environment. Users must determine whether or not certain conditions that are present in the house are in violation of the Massachusetts regulations: 105 CMR 400 and 410. Users will be able to move through the various rooms and areas of the house, both interior and exterior, and employ various interactive features, such as a zoom, kneel, and flashlight, to get a closer look at conditions in the house and to properly classify and cite violations.
This is a required element of the Massachusetts Public Health Inspector Training Housing Course. It is also a useful tool for anyone curious about Massachusetts regulations governing minimum standards of fitness for human habitation.
